There is a line that says, “See the person first, not the disability.”
Hope Public Charitable Trust is humbled and proud to say that 220 intellectually disabled children and adults are trained in vocational training with the aim of helping them live an independent life. It was a challenging journey, but we believe that the disabled people are just like us, and that kept us pursuing our dreams to make them skilled and bring happiness into their lives. HOPE special needs Children and adults of Aminjikarai, Egmore, Thirumullaivoyal and Annambedu are given training in various vocational traits, such as Candle making, Phenol making, Areca plate making, Agarpathy making, Cup Sambrani making, and Camphor making; fabric painting; and training on handicraft work. These skill trainings have the benefit of improving coordination, motor skills, and vocational skills. The training is given with the aim of building their self-confidence and self-esteem and providing adequate support for leading an independent life. The products made by our were displayed and showcased installs and workshops at Teleperformance, Cube Private Media Network, Maersk, Taj Hotel, and UST Company. We are able to train them and help them become skilled. You can also encourage and support them by opening doors to workshops and stalls for these special needs children and adults.
