
Greetings from Hope Public Charitable Trust on 03.05.23 orientation program was conducted at Hope Care and Protection Centre, Aminjikarai, around 46 students from Sridevi College of Nursing participated. The orientation program aimed to equip nursing students with the knowledge and skills necessary to care for individuals with intellectual disabilities effectively. The program covered various topics, including an introduction to intellectual disabilities, case studies discussion, and practical training modules on communication techniques, sensory sensitivity, and behavioral management. Interactive sessions, including role-playing exercises and a facility tour, provided students with hands-on experience and insights into the challenges faced by individuals with intellectual disabilities. The program emphasized empathy, understanding, and the importance of delivering compassionate care tailored to the individual needs of each person. The program concluded with recommendations for continued education and community engagement to further support individuals with intellectual disabilities. Overall, the orientation program was a valuable opportunity for nursing students to enhance their skills and prepare for providing holistic care to this vulnerable population.
