
Counseling sessions are held on daily basis in the morning in which the residents are given a psycho social support through social work intervention. Coordinator cum Counselor Ms. Nandhini ensures that the residents attend the counseling sessions without fail because this will improve their condition. Family counseling is also given during the time of reintegration.
Role of Social Worker / Counselor in the shelter home – Psychological Health and Well-Being.
The counselor help residents, who have physical, mental, developmental, emotional and psycho social issues to overcome their trauma, provide a friendly atmosphere and come out from the stage of vulnerability. Social Worker counsels them to solve the cop up issues, gives cognitive therapy etc. so that they can gradually move in to a better life. Stress-free games like balloon blowing, etc. are given in order to engage their minds and free them from other thoughts
