June 21st was a special day at Hope Public Charitable Trust! We celebrated International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm at our Early Intervention Centers for Autism in Poonamallee and Thirumullaivoyal, as well as at our adult intellectual disability shelter. The highlight of the event was a captivating yoga session led by Dr. Ranjith from the Government Yoga and Naturopathy Medical College Hospital. He conducted the session to meet the unique needs and abilities of our residents, and it was incredible to see them respond with such joy and excitement. Numerous benefits of yoga for individuals with intellectual disabilities, from enhancing their overall well-being and emotional balance to improving their physical coordination was explained by the team of doctors. It was a powerful reminder that wellness practices should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their abilities. As we celebrated International Yoga Day, we were reminded of the transformative power of yoga to bring people together and promote overall well-being.
