ODIVILAIYADU2024–EDITION1: MULTI-DISTRICTPARALYMPICSPORTS MEET FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
An event of inclusion for the special children was organized on January17, 2024, at YMCA, Nandanam, by the Royal Club of Chennai Bharathi, joining hands with the Hope Public Charitable Trust.The Rotary Club of Chennai Bharathi also donated three wheelchairs to deserving candidates— the wheelchairs are worth Rs. 20,000 and were sponsored by Dr.Edward ROTARY CLUB OF LA VALETTE, MALTA, and Dr. Kannan from Prime Indian Hospitals.
750 children and young adults with special needs from Chennai and Thiruvallur districts participated in this event, where many track and field events were conducted.
200T-shirts were distributed to volunteers, along with sportsmanship certificates.
A sumptuous breakfast and lunch were provided to the 1800 people present at the venue. One thousand goodie bags were also offered.
100 YMCA College for Physical Education students were instrumental in flaw lessly conducting the track and field events in the hot sun.
This was done under the able guidance of Dr. Karthikeyan. They showed their kind gesture by running along with the children with special needs on the track and, if needed, holding them to help them reach the finish line. This was a treat for our eyes. Their energy levels were impeccable.

This event was possible only with the parents’ and dear children’s support and patience. We immensely thank all of them.
It’s a great joy for HOPE PUBLIC CHARITABLE TRUST today to be able to bring 1800 crowds.
In addition, a health camp was also conducted for all the parents of the participants who were present there.
